MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES | SSMU

There is a wealth of health and well-being initiatives offered by McGill students, the University, and the larger Montreal community that we encourage all students to take advantage of. Your mental well-being matters and all students should feel empowered to explore how to cultivate a healthy mind and body during their time at McGill.

THE WELL OFFICE

The WELL Office provides both Academic Support and Wellness Support to learners from the SPOT, ISoN and SCSD. These services include Counselling Appointments, our Wellness Curriculum and a variety of resources designed specifically for McGill Health Professional Learners.

OFFICE FOR RESPECTFUL ENVIRONMENTS (ORE)

The Office for Respectful Environments (ORE) is responsible for the intake of mistreatment reports in clinical learning environments, triaging mistreatment reports and monitoring the progress of each incident dossier.

If you have problems with your Clinical Instructors, the ORE details ways you can report mistreatment.

INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STRENGTHS-BASED NURSING AND HEALTH CARE

A registered not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to promote Strength-Based Nursing and Healthcare.

STUDENTS' SOCIETY OF MCGILL UNIVERSITY (SSMU)

Every undergraduate at McGill is a member of the SSMU. We are here to speak out for you and advocate for your interests. On the local university levels, this means being your representation to the McGill administration.  We work hard for fairer academic justice processes, better quality instruction, and better services for students. On the broader level, we are also strong advocates for accessible quality public education.

BATES VISUAL GUIDE TO PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

Bates’ Visual Guide delivers head-to-toe and systems-based physical examination techniques for the (Advanced) Assessment or Introduction to Clinical Medicine course. The site features more than 8 hours of video content.

The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) is a bilingual academic health network, and one of the largest and most modern in North America.

EDUCATION LOAN FINANCE (ELFI)

Education Loan Finance (ELFI) is an organization designed to assist and educate borrowers with student loan debt. In order to offer some relief for nursing students' monthly loan payments, ELFI recently created what they believe to be the most in-depth guide for nurses who may be thinking about refinancing their student loans.
