MCGILL NURSES FOR GLOBAL HEALTH (MNGH)

McGill Nurses for Global Health (MNGH) is a group of undergraduate and graduate students who are committed to addressing issues of global health and structural health inequity from a nursing perspective. Our aim is to foster awareness, to work in solidarity with community-based health organizations, to collaborate with the interdisciplinary global health community on campus and to advocate for the right to accessible healthcare. Our committee strives to engage and increase the role of McGill nurses and nursing students as global citizens.
Les Infirmières et Infirmiers de McGill pour la santé mondiale (IISM), groupe d'étudiants de premier et deuxième cycle universitaire, s'engagent à aborder les problèmes de santé mondiale, ainsi que les inégalités de santé structurelle, avec une perspective unique relevant de l’expertise infirmière.
Notre objectif est de favoriser la sensibilisation, de travailler en solidarité avec les organisations de santé communautaires et de défendre le droit à des soins de santé accessibles, en collaborant avec la communauté internationale et interdisciplinaire de santé se trouvant sur notre campus. Notre comité s'efforce d'accroître le rôle des infirmières et des infirmiers de McGill en tant que professionnels engagés, mais surtout comme citoyens du monde.

Who we are?
The McGill Nurses for Global Health is a student run initiative made up of undergraduate students, committed to addressing global health issues from a nursing perspective. Our goal is to foster awareness, both within the nursing community and on the McGill campus, to increase the role of McGill nursing students as global citizens, and work towards achieving health equity and social justice. Our committee/club works in association with the Nursing Undergraduate Society (NUS) as well as Global and Indigenous Health Nursing McGill (GAIHN).
What do we do throughout the semester?
Our goal is to meet monthly in order to discuss current global health issues and plan events highlighting these topics. The MNGH plans educational opportunities for students including the Annual Global Health Nursing Conference. We also aim to connect students with opportunities on campus through Global Health Programs. When possible, we work with community based health organizations to either fundraise or raise awareness for initiatives within greater Montreal.
